When the German hologram stamps were issued several different face values for postal rates were applicable. One of the more unusual mail items was the world wide surface letter rate. See sample below.

Some very unusual mail items appeared, such as the one shown here where a large sized registered mail label (experimental label used at one Munich post office) was applied to the envelope. This is not only a FDC mail item but also a document of mail history, as these
labels have only been temporarily used.
