The year 2000 marks a significant increase in variations of the pre-paid package and parcel labels. In late 1999 the pre-paid labels changed their product name from "Päckchen mit der Marke" into "PlusPäckchen". The was due to product streamlining by the German postal service. In addition collectors learned from an official statement by Deutsche Post AG (dating 21.09.2000) that "PlusProdukte" and their different variations will neither be available through philatelic services of Deutsche Post AG nor will these variations be announced in advance. For collectors this consequently means that availability depends on demand at postal outlets and  will require significant efforts to obtain current variations.
