In 1998 the German Postal Service introduced a new product called pre-paid parcels. This item is the combination of a box and a pre-paid topical postage label or a pre-paid non-topical label without a box. The topical self-adhesive label (size 7.5 x 6.3 inch when applied) shows a picture in the top half, an area for sender and mailing address at the bottom, plus the pre-payment imprint and a hologram. The non-topical pre-paid labels do not have a picture and consist of an area for sender and mailing address plus the pre-payment imprint and a hologram. The non-topical version which includes a hologram was introduced for the first time in the summer of 1999.

Please note that all topical labels as mentioned in the following pages are out of sale since spring/summer 2002. The design of non-topical labels are changing and the old design labels are going out of sale in February 2003. For information regarding the currently used labels:
